Most noted for the gorgeous land found throughout the Willamette Valley, Oregon can offer visitors an endless expanse of beauty and numerous, charming towns as well.

Portland stands as the major metropolis in the state, with a population pushing over half a million. A large mass of top-quality breweries and the NBA's Portland Trailblazers are two of the more prominent attractions in Portland, though visitors will find a diverse set of neighborhoods and park settings for a wonderful integration of Oregon's beauty and the city's growth.

The capital of Oregon, Salem, is also a popular destination in Oregon. A number of historical, government buildings, and massive collection of 42 parks, make Salem a dream destination for sightseeing enthusiasts that appreciate history and nature.

Other popular areas throughout Oregon include Bend, Eugene and Newport. Newport offers a pristine Pacific Coast setting for those looking to escape to the ocean. A variety of beaches and lighthouses of special importance are scattered across Newport's coastline, offering a beach setting more in tune with pictures of Maine than the typical "Spring Break" setting.

Eugene is home to Oregon University, and as such brings a wide array of cultural entertainment to the city. Ballet, opera and a plethora of live theatre companies add sophistication to the element, while there is also a healthy scene of underground music ranging from heavy metal to hip-hop.

Bend is a quaint, relaxing town to travel to in Oregon, though it is most noted for the attractions within proximity of the city. In particular, Mount Bachelor stands as a premiere ski area in all of the United States, and always brings more than a few ski enthusiasts to the Bend area throughout the ski season.

Whenever Oregon is mentioned, images of nothing more than an expanse of natural areas may come to mind; though that shouldn't be negative. From extinct volcanoes and ski mountains to beaches and rich forests, Oregon is extremely diverse in its landscape for a setting that can offer a variety of experience in just one visit.

Along with the wealth of natural beauty, Oregon also offers a distinct, relaxed culture to experience that can range from professional sports and fine arts to simply kicking back in a renowned brewery or pub. Simply find what you'd like to gain from your vacation, and you're sure to find a city in Oregon to accommodate.
